Centre of Excellence Learn to Skate
Canlan Ice Sports Where the experience is everything...
This program teaches young children, teenagers and adults basic skating skills following the Skate Canada CanSkate Program which is considered to be the essential basis for Figure Skating, Hockey and Speed Skating. The program intends to inspire confidence and enjoyment in skating. No skating skill is required.

Through this program, children can be selected to join our pre-competitive program, Junior Academy. This is where they start the fundamentals of Competitive figure skating. Skating Year Each skating year is divided into four terms: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer with a short break in between.

New registration can be taken at any time during the term.

 
 

LTS Terms are:

Term 1 - September to December
Term 2 - January to March
Term 3 - April and May
Term 4 - July and August

IMPORTANT NOTE: Discounts available for multiple Learn To Skate registrations within the same family!

Discounts will NOT SHOW in the online registration form but will be adjusted manually after online registration form is received.

Yearly Skate Canada fee of $32.65 will be added for each participant that has not previously been charged. This fee covers participation September 1st, 2011 August 31st, 2012
 

Parent And Tot
 
Parent and Tot Learn to Skate is designed to introduce new skaters to the fundamental skating skills with the assistance of a parent. Qualified instructors lead parents and children through various games and activities to make the children reach a comfort level on the ice. Parents must have competent skating ability in order to help their child during the program.

Adult and Teen Learn to Skate
 
Teens and adults 14 years and older can participate in their own group offered on select sessions. Designed to teach the fundamentals of Figure Skating and provide participants with fun, fitness and social activities. No skating skill is required. Teens and adults are still welcome to participate in regular LTS sessions if they chose not to sign up for the adult only groups.

Learn to Skate (CanSkate)
 
This program teaches young children to skate following Skate Canada CanSkate guidelines and standards. The classes are conducted in a positive atmosphere making skating fun and preparing participants to skate recreationally, figure skate, play hockey or ringette.
